Blessed be the Lord!
For he has heard the voice of my pleas for mercy.
The Lord is my strength and my shield;
in him my heart trusts, and I am helped;
my heart exults,
and with my song I give thanks to him.The Lord is the strength of his people;
he is the saving refuge of his anointed.
Oh, save your people and bless your heritage!
Be their shepherd and carry them forever.Psalm 28:6-9
Is GOD using this election to push us to trust Him instead of wonderful, seemingly perfect candidates?
By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place
that he was to receive as an inheritance.
And he went out, not knowing where he was going.
By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land,
living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise.
For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations,
whose designer and builder is God.For people who speak thus make it clear that they are seeking a homeland.
If they had been thinking of that land from which they had gone out,
they would have had opportunity to return.
But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one.
Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God,
for he has prepared for them a city.Hebrews 11:8-10, 14-16

Amen Martha! I am apolitcal. I hate politics. I do my best to avoid anything related. I do my due diligence to learn about candidates and course the one that best fits my ideals and vote for them. God does the rest!
Thank you for this reminder. Our help comes from the Lord, and He is in control. I hope you have a lovely weekend.
Yes, our hope has to be in God. So reassuring to remember that he is in control and that he is our refuge in times of uncertainty.
Amen Martha! I’m with you!
i enjoy watching the discussion of issues…or at least i used to, kimberly. i don’t enjoy the personal attacks at all. i also don’t enjoy personal attack of people when they have a different view from the one i might have. ugh! i don’t know if i’m getting too old or am just tired, but i realized i will need to focus more on GOD’s promises to get through this campaign! it has been a killer!
glad you stopped by jolene:) i hope you have a lovely weekend as well:)
that is especially true during this election season, carly! it has been particularly vicious! i’m glad GOD has it all under control b/c there are days I’m not certain. I need to trust Him!
yes tara. i’m being pushed to trust GOD more and more…always a good thing isn’t it:)
I totally get it Martha. My post today mentions that thing about have personal preferences and ideals. I don’t like it when people attack because they don’t like different. It’s messed up!
i agree. don’t understand why people seem to feel threatened by differing opinions. they give variety to life. besides, i learn a lot from people with different opinions and perspectives:)
This is the right perspective, Martha. God is in control. He is the One who establishes Kings. We are in His hands!
As do I Martha. People have way too much fears. I don’t know what is so threatening about being different.
that’s definitely a relief isn’t it dianne!
Martha, I kind of look at it this way.
Saul of Tarsus was not a nice person. Not the sort you’d want to hang out with.
But in his flawed character, God saw the potential in the Damascene moment, and the world changed.

and saul wasn’t the only one andrew. that is pure grace from GOD isn’t it? we don’t get it b/c we are deserving that’s for sure! blessings!
Well said, Martha. Oh how we as Christians need to get our eyes off of the world and onto Jesus. He is still in control and He has an awesome plan if we’ll trust Him to do it!
I have thought this very thing. We all have started out a mess until Jesus took over. Who knows what can happen.
for sure ggmandy:) trusting GOD in new ways is always difficult but it will grow us for sure!
Martha, I agree with you about this. If we get back to putting GOD first in all things it would all work out right.
Dear Martha … thanks for this superb, sacred recalibration, this recentering between conventions. Without God’s help, we are sunk.
In more ways than one …
hi maynard, putting Him first would certainly be a great start…or maybe central to our lives would be a better description:)
for sure linda! i could have written a lot about help, but that is the one that popped into my head. it was a great exercise for my attitude:)
